Edit 5/4/2026 (Optimization tips, New bugs, Recommended specs and review) *They finally fixed the 120Fps bug, but if ya have a 144Hz or higher refresh rate screen, set it to 120hz before playing and the lag/slowdown will be fixed! Also, they did some low-level optimization, so it should run better on lower-end devices now (or they just updated to Unity 2024)

After more than a year of playing this game (Since 27/4/2024) it's one of the only few games that has kept me playing it every single day. So, let's start this review.

Gacha. I can tell this is one of the few games that are VERY generous with the in-game currency (Drama Jewels. AKA: stars). you can get up to 2K by just by playing in the league and triple cast, and also save "yellow coins" that let you buy stars, and you can get them by doing daily tasks and just playing some songs. Also the gacha rates are OK. it's mostly a question of luck as always. but the 4★ cards and poster design are REALLY good. and every one of them are animated! (Only 4★ Cards. posters aren't animated).

Gameplay. The reason I ditched protect sekai entirely. If you like to play multifinger charts (4k, 5K and 6K) and like an arcade score system. this is the game you were looking for. specially if you play with a phone, because this game has one of the most Underrated but REALLY useful features. Lane size adjustment. you can stretch the lane to fit your entire screen and be able to play multifinger charts with more ease. and every single song have an OLIVIER difficulty. from the easiest ones (Olivier I) to the most insane ones (Olivier X). Also the way the notes flow and works here is also slightly different from other games. but after some practice you get used to it. specially the flicks. I really love the flicks notes in this game. Also you can play long versions of some songs in the game! And you can also use 120Fps if your phone have a 120Hz screen.

-How to unlock OLIVIER difficulty.
Complete a song in Stella with Rank S or higher and long press the Stella button 'till a sound and effect appears. then just start the song and complete it without running out of life.

-Is this game thumb friendly?
Yes, every difficulty but Olivier. unless you use thumbs with 2 or 4 extra fingers. but you should be able to play almost every Stella with thumbs

Characters. Personally, I love the characters of this game. They have interesting stories and events, their designs are nice and well made, The Voice actors fit their characters very well, their cards and posters are very well designed and colorful as well. It's one of the few games where I like almost every character. especially Hikari and Xue. the are like sisters sometimes.
I recommend reading the event stories, they are often funny and interesting, depending of the theme of the event. and also the anime is not bad, so give it a shot if you can!

Character personalization. Yes, you can dress your favorite characters as you want. and it's pretty easy to get dresses and outfits by gettings SSR posters or buying them in the store (These are paid. But the gifted paid currency for dresses a couple times since I started). And by upgrading the posters you can get variants of the same dress (Normally just different colors).

Features, mini games, and other things. This game has pretty neat things. like a camera mode where you can take photos to your favorite character and make and album with these photos and put it in your profile (These photos can make your team better and raise act. power and other stats) and that mode is available in 3DMV's, theater and spot. And after the 2nd anniversary they added a mini game with dugong (The mascot of the game) where you move dugong to avoid hitting the notes 'till the end of the song. and you can play it with a friend too! (I haven't tried that). Also if you tap in the location icon at the top left of the screen you can go to different places and watch the characters chat. also you can change the BGM music in the main screen in settings. only Original songs can be used. the Cover songs can't be used as BGM. And another neat thing is that you can see different arts and cards in the log screen (When you start the game) so It makes the start screen looks different every time you log in! you can also change the Log-in charapter and outfit now!

Optimization and recommended specs. I have played this game with a bunch of devices. from crappy, low end phones, old High-end phones and New gaming phones. When I started The optimization was BAD. Laggy, shuttering, the frametimes all over the place. However, now the game has solid optimization. even on low end devices. I'll list the recommended specs and How much performance you'll get.

-Exynos 7420 or equivalent. 50~60Fps, Lowest. 420P or 20~37Fps. Lowest. 1080p. (With custom ROM performance could be slightly better, as stock samsung ROM isn't compatible with the game anymore.)

-Kirin 790 or equivalent. Locked 60Fps. medium. 720P or 1080p.

-Snapdragon 845 or equivalent. Locked 60Fps, Medium. 1080p.

-Dimensity 8200 Ultimate or equivalent. Locked 120Fps. Highest. 1080p or 1440p if available. (Can do 4K at 52-74Fps too)

-Intel Core I3 2310M or equivalent. 47-60Fps, High, 450p. Or 12-27Fps, lowest, 900p (Doesn't work anymore after 2.30 update.)

*The game runs just fine with 4GB of ram. less than that will cause shuttering or lag. And if your device has good specs but still lags, Try changing the Graphics engine to OpenGL on the settings icon in the start screen.

*The game uses up to 17GB of storage if you download every single song and MV

*It doesn't work anymore on 2nd gen Intel CPUs (Sandy bridge) since the 2.30 update. Reason: Any Intel CPU before Ivy bridge lacks the neccesary instruction to convert FP16 instructions to FP32 (FP16C), which the game now relies on WAY more than before due to optimization (FP16 is faster on ARM CPUs) so when the game tries to use it, it just dies.

*I've seen a lot of Error 82 lately. It might be related with the game conflicting with another app running on the background, but I'm not sure yet. (Probably overlays? I'll debug that when I get a new device).

Songs and covers. The original songs on this game are good, especially the new ones. and the covers are also well made. and sometimes they put the full ver. songs in the game (Mostly original songs).

Community. This game has one of the nicest communities I've ever been on. It isn't as big as proseka's community and doesn't have that many fans outside of asia, but their fan base is really nice and polite, even their streamers are very nice (like Ryu and others, as there are only a few yumeste streamers/Vtubers). And the game itself is pretty much made with the community in mind, as they added a "championship mode" where you can make your own championships or playlists and have up to 32 players in it. The QAP/TAP/DAP thing (if two players get an AP, there will be an extra AP star/mark next to your own, and if four players get an AP in the same difficulty, then you get the 4 extra AP marks next to yours and it'll stay there forever) I think it also works for FCs, but I'm not 100% sure. Also, there's the "circle" thing, which is like an In-game group chat and it has it's own leaderboard and events. The point is: Nice japanese community, their streamers are kind and respectful, and the "community" itself is a part of the game soul, which is pretty rare on most gacha-based games nowdays (although gacha isn't that necessary if you only care about the rhythm game itself. This game rewards raw skill, not how much money you put into it, as long as you only chase rank & rating).

One thing I really want to explain is how the team building works. But to be honest. I still don't know how it works at all. It's VERY complex to make a good team without using the auto team function. but once you get used to it you will do it somehow. Just level up cards and rank, Try different posters until you find one that gives you a better score, also try different accessories, and the most important one... TRY DIFFERENT ORDERS, Cuz sometimes you can have a powerful team, but an incorrect order will make it utterly useless.

The "Value" in the review is rated on my own experience.
For those with more powerful mobile devices or playing on other platforms, it will probably be a different story.

The game has beautiful graphics. The music and sound are pretty nice although the voiceover can sometimes be alittle off-key.
Battle system is hack-n-slash with dodge and counters. Also, you can switch char mid battle for some combinations.

Now, before even going into the game features, the thing that is first shoved into my face is LAG.
For a game that features high speed action and requires dodge and counters, LAG is a fatal flaw.
The game jerks or becomes blurry, making the movement awkward and the battles difficult to react to. And even if you can fight well, you probably will not enjoy it with these flaws.

Next is the features of the game.
Which sadly, I do not know.
It lags so much that I seriously am not sure I want to continue playing or not.
Given that similar battle systems are already available in other games.

I will give the game a day or two to see if any updates improves the quality of the game before uninstalling.
After all, with a download exceeding 16 gb (and that is just 1 of the patches, not the inital installation nor the later updates), I would expect that the game would execute a little more smoothly.

This app cannot be installed without Google Play. The game will not proceed if your storage isn't sufficient. All dialogues, open-world adventures and fighting scenes are in 3D console quality particularly PlayStation 5. Originally a Chinese game, the app has an English version. QooApp Event of this app will give you gacha tickets and avatars if you complete tasks. It has a Wikipedia page.
